Hello, thanks for producing such a great Blog! I have found many great ideas here. I thought I would pay you back by posting a great site that I have recently come across.
Newsela is an innovative way for students to build reading comprehension using current event new articles. Teachers can create an account and then give a signup code to their students. From there, teachers can assign each student an article that is right for his or her reading ability. Each article has four different versions based on lexile ratings. Some articles also have short multiple choice quizzes that assess student comprehension and are based on common core standard. The site allows teachers o track student performance on the quizzes throughout the year. We have found it very useful in our school.
